Join Airbnb as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer in the ULM‑ML team, where you will build end‑to‑end machine learning solutions to improve host and guest experience.

The ULM‑ML team supports host personalization products and provides data‑driven solutions to achieve superior host experience. Products include Managing Your Space (MYS) and host tools. You will own data pipelines, ML models, and build services to serve them.

Leverage open‑source, third‑party, and home‑grown ML models to improve product experience. Collaborate with data science, product, and engineering teams to identify opportunities and drive impact.

• Work with large scale structured and unstructured data, build and continuously improve cutting‑edge ML models for Airbnb product, business, and operational use cases.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to identify opportunities, refine requirements, and quantify impact.
• Prototype use cases and iterate on requirements with stakeholders.
• Develop, product ionize, and operate ML models and pipelines at scale.
• Design and build services/APIs to serve ML‑driven data to product.

• 8+ years of industry experience in applied ML, inclusive MS or PhD.
• Experience in natural language processing and computer vision.
• Strong programming skills in Scala, Python, Java, C++ or equivalent and data engineering.
• Deep understanding of ML best practices, algorithms, personalization, recommendation, and anomaly detection.
• Experience with at least three of:
  Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Kubernetes, Spark, Airflow, Hive.
• Industry experience building end‑to‑end ML infrastructure and product ionizing models for product use.
• Exposure to architectural patterns of large‑scale software: APIs, data pipelines, efficient algorithms, and models.
• Experience with test‑driven development, A/B testing, incremental delivery, and deployment.
