Position SummaryThe Logistics Specialist (Asset Management) manages the scheduling, control, and accountability of NSW vehicles and equipment at assigned locations. This role receives and processes asset requests, coordinates vehicle checkout and recovery, and ensures compliance with command‑directed priorities. The specialist supports fleet readiness by coordinating maintenance scheduling, tracking damage and availability, and maintaining accurate asset records within Fleet Focus and related systems.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Receive and process vehicle and equipment requests
- Schedule, dispatch, checkout, and recover fleet assets
- Ensure compliance with command asset issue priorities
- Coordinate with maintenance shops on asset availability
- Track damage reports and operator feedback
- Recall equipment when maintenance is due
- Maintain fleet records in Fleet Focus
- Assist with fuel receipt collection and FAST reporting
- Support logistics inspections and fleet inventories
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain installation access credentials
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Minimum 3 years as a mechanic or repair parts clerk
- Minimum 2 years using Asset Works Fleet Focus or similar
- Experience generating asset utilization and production reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Compliance with safety, hazmat, and conduct requirements
- Compliance with drug‑free workforce standards
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Walking between motor pool, dispatch, and office areas
- Work in office and outdoor vehicle staging environments
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
