Staff Accountant

The Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM) is seeking an entry level Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 0 to 3 years of general accounting experience to include familiarity with accounting software systems. The Staff Accountant will primarily be responsible for managing accounts payable to include matching vendor invoices to purchase orders, generating Accounts Payable check runs, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring accurate and timely general journal entries.

CCAM is in Disputanta, VA (just south of Richmond, VA) and is a modern, world-class facility designed to enable employees to produce creative research solutions.

Primary

Responsibilities Include:

• Perform day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and standard general journal entries.
• Process and review vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions in CCAM Financial System.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Provide support during external audits, including preparation of supporting audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
