Senior Plant Cost Accountant

Overview

The Senior Plant Cost Accountant will provide support to Operations from both operational and financial perspectives, aligned with company guidelines. This includes monthly closings, variance analysis, annual planning, and other ad hoc analyses.

This position will act as a trusted business partner with plant leadership and all functions in the facility. It is a visible and important role within the plant and with company leadership outside the plant.

• Serve as a trusted business partner to Plant Leadership.
• Provide data‑driven insights to help the team drive performance and achieve objectives.
• Track and report actual performance against plans, forecasts, and standards.
• Track and analyze spending trends and headcount; drive corrective actions.
• Prepare monthly closing entries.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and analytics.
• Support the preparation of the annual plan and interim projections.
• Ensure accurate reflection of standard costs.
• Drive process improvements in the area of financial analysis.
• Manage expense versus capital decisions in accordance with GAAP and guidelines.
• Participate as financial advisor and validator on Plant Cost Savings initiatives.
• Maintain conformance to ongoing audits and internal controls and oversight.
• Ensure inventories are recorded in accordance with GAAP and reserves are maintained.
• Represent the Finance Team in plant meetings.

• 5-8 years of Manufacturing Cost Accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Standard cost valuation.
• Cost accounting in an ERP systems environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
