BiofarmVA is a growing greenhouse operation based in Virginia focused on producing high-quality organic fresh herbs. We are building a team of dependable, hardworking people who enjoy working together and taking pride in what they do.
We are looking for a detail-oriented Admin/Payroll Lead to help support the day-to-day accounting, payroll, and administrative needs for the business. This is a hands‑on role with a variety of responsibilities and an opportunity to grow alongside the company as we continue to expand.
Position SummaryThe Admin/Payroll will help manage the day‑to‑day bookkeeping and administrative needs of the business, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll support, reconciliations, invoicing, and record‑keeping. This role will also support employee onboarding, vendor communication, and general office coordination.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail‑oriented, and comfortable handling a variety of responsibilities in a growing company environment.
Accounting & Payroll- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process invoices, vendor payments, payroll support, and employee timekeeping
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping and organized financial records
- Assist with expense tracking, reporting, and coordination with external accounting or payroll partners
- Support employee onboarding
- Maintain confidential employee and company records
- Assist with daily office coordination, scheduling, and vendor communication
- Order office supplies and support general administrative needs
- Answer phones, greet visitors, and help keep office systems organized
- Provide support across departments as the company continues to grow
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, or related accounting support roles
- Experience with payroll, reconciliations, invoicing, and financial record‑keeping
- Experience with Quick Books or similar accounting software preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Outlook
- Organized, dependable, and detail‑oriented with the ability to work independently in a growing company environment
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
- Experience with employee onboarding
- Experience working in agriculture, manufacturing, food production, construction, or other hands‑on business environments
- Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required

This position is primarily office‑based with occasional time spent in greenhouses or production areas. Candidates should be comfortable working in a growing agricultural business environment.
ScheduleFull‑time position
Monday–Friday with occasional flexibility based on operational needs.
