Role OverviewCherry Bekaert has an opportunity for an experienced Tax Partner to join the growing Washington, D.C. metro Tax practice, based in Tysons, Virginia. This is a highly visible role with responsibility for C corp and consolidated C corp tax compliance, ASC 740 tax provision outsourcing and advisory services for middle-market and private equity-backed company clients. The successful candidate will serve as both a client relationship steward and an engaged practice builder, contributing to team development and firm-wide growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee C corp and consolidated C corp federal and multi-state tax compliance and consulting engagements for a portfolio of middle-market company clients.
- Direct ASC 740 tax provision engagements, including provision preparation, review and outsourcing arrangements, for SEC registrants and privately held companies with complex structures.
- Provide strategic tax consulting guidance on matters including corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, and international tax considerations.
- Build and sustain client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on complex tax matters across the corporate lifecycle.
- Drive practice growth through active business development, leveraging an established professional network and collaborating with other firm leaders on cross-service opportunities.
- Mentor, coach and develop client services team members, serving as a role model for professional excellence and client service delivery.
- Contribute to the Firm's ASC 740 Center of Excellence and broader tax practice initiatives, including participation in relevant industry groups and specialty practices.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, or Master's degree in taxation, and active CPA license required.
- Substantial corporate tax experience with a large local, regional or national public accounting firm, with a primary focus on C corp and consolidated C corp federal compliance, ASC 740 tax provision work, and multi-state and international tax consulting for large middle-market clients and U.S.
-based subsidiaries of foreign multinationals. - Industry experience in Technology, Health & Life Sciences, Private Equity, Manufacturing or other middle market corporate sectors is a plus.
- Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth and expanding client relationships.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to advise client stakeholders and collaborate effectively across service lines.
- Strong leadership and staff development capabilities, with a commitment to coaching and mentoring client services teams.
