Business Manager
Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The Business Manager will serve as the member of the Reynolds Community College's Financial Operations division with primary responsibility, accountability, and knowledge of CCWA business and financial processes. Will supervise fiscal technician(s) also assigned to CCWA fiscal processes including general ledger accounting and accounts payable. Will interface with Brightpoint Community College's Financial Operations Vice President on accounts receivable and monthly transfers of CCWA funds for student tuition and support services.
Will provide monthly reports to Reynolds and Brightpoint Financial Operations leaders, to Reynolds and Brightpoint presidents, and to CCWA Vice President updating CCWA's gross revenue, expenses, net profit to date, and carry forward balance. Will serve as a primary point of contact to CCWA Vice President on CCWA fiscal health. Will act as a liaison to HR regarding CCWA payroll codes and other issues.
Special Assignments
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a college or university with major studies in accounting or a related position; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience using an automated financial system. Critical thinker with experience in accounts reconciliation. Knowledge and experience in working with accounts payable, student or customer financials received by a business office, experience in accounting and audit, compliance, and risk management are essential.
Experience working with state accounting functions and fund management preferred.
