JOB GOALS
To provide assistance to the Director of operations and carry out all instructions given by administration and/or school board. To maintain a work environment conducive to the efficient operation of the bus shop and to make sound judgement decisions. To provide up-to-date information to employees in the transportation and maintenance departments and to keep abreast of all activities involving these departments.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel information;
- Maintains pleasant and orderly environment;
- Resolves problems and concerns in a positive manner;
- Provides information as appropriate or routes calls to other officials as necessary for resolution;
- Performs general clerical duties, directs callers to proper personnel, files correspondence and records, and files transportation accident reports to State Department;
- Keeps personnel files for Transportation and Maintenance Departments;
- Verifies timesheets and sick leave days for transportation and maintenance employees, including bus drivers and enters absences in Frontline;
- Assists in coordinating the retraining and holding workshops for veteran drivers;
- Assists in ensuring the safe and proper physical movement of students from one environment to another, as requested;
- Views and sends bus videos to proper personnel as needed;
- Obtains prior approval for all field trips from Director of Operations and assigns county vehicles;
- Files insurance claims as needed;
- Completes reports related to time worked, daily schedule, route information, and all other reports as required by the Director of Operations with accuracy and in a timely manner; and
- Assists with preparation of annual report;
- Assumes responsibility for professional growth; and
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned by administration.
- Minimum of Associate Degree in Administrative Assistant preferred;
- Skillful filing skills and use of office machines;
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines;
- Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Word Perfect, Microsoft Office, and/or current software;
- Proficient telephone and communication skills; and
- Capability to make sound judgement decisions in the absence of supervisors.
- This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 25 lbs., with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Other physical demands that may be required include stooping and/or kneeling, reaching, talking, hearing, and seeing.

Salary: $28,000 to $45,000 Per Year
