Job DescriptionJob Title: Human Resources Assistant
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent for Administration
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
To perform specialized and confidential administrative and secretarial services for the human resources department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Manages the Assistant Superintendent for Administration’s calendar.
- Schedules interviews, meetings and appointments for the department as requested.
- Handles incoming mail for the Assistant Superintendent for Administration.
- Screens phone calls to the Assistant Superintendent for Administration and responds appropriately to requests for information or direct calls to appropriate department team members.
- Maintains the master student discipline database.
- Maintains Vector Training System.
- Schedules and coordinates substitute teacher workshops.
- Creates documents, presentations and gathers/compiles information as needed by the human resources department.
- Maintains files and makes reservations for workshops and conferences for the Assistant Superintendent for Administration.
- Plans events as requested by the Assistant Superintendent for Administration.
- Ability to work some extended hours, if needed.
- Performs such other duties as required and/or assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Administration and the human resources department.

- Ability to work as a member of a team and have a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of functions/organization of local school division and operational policies.
- Knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, and equipment, as well as proficient in the use of the entire Google suite, Microsoft Office, Online Platforms, Graphic software and other software/hardware programs.
- Ability to research and prepare reports.
- Ability to coordinate complex work responsibilities without direct daily supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other school officials, employees, the general public, and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication.
- Exhibit above average organizational skills and capable of multitasking and working under pressure.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma required.
- Some college or degree strongly preferred.
- Prior experience is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret education periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve-month full-time position
EVALUATION
Performance shall be evaluated by the Assistant Superintendent for Administration in accordance with evaluation provisions of the Louisa County School Board’s policy manual.

Salary: $41,587 to $69,592 Per Year
