General Service Technician - South Riding (up to $18/HR)

Hogan & Sons Tire and Auto is a multi-generational family business that provides a full-service solution for all automotive and repair needs including tire replacement, inspections, and maintenance packages.

As a General Service Technician, you will conduct non-technical automotive service repairs such as oil changes, tire and wheel related services, drive customers, pick up parts, and maintain shop cleanliness as needed.

Compensation: $15-$18 per hour plus commissions.

• Performs tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance and tire rotation.
• Performs oil changes and other basic services under direction of the Shop Manager or Store Manager.
• Observes vehicle condition during basic services, reports any needed repairs or safety concerns, and documents vehicle condition using the company’s Multi-point Inspection or Repair Order.
• Maintains cleanliness of the service area, tire racks, showroom, and exterior of the building.
• Safely transports customers to and from their residence or business using the company vehicle.
• Retrieves parts, supplies, tires, etc. from vendors or corporate office using the company vehicle.
• Operates company vehicle safely and courteously, obeying all traffic laws.
• Conducts State Safety and Emission Inspections on vehicles ethically, following company and state guidelines.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports concerns to the Shop Manager or Store Manager.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A valid, clean driver’s license, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
• Basic understanding of under-the-hood mechanical systems and under-car assembly.
• Ability to work a minimum of five days per week, including weekends.

Exposure to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustics, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Work environment temperature varies and may include extreme heat or cold.

Required physical abilities:

• Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and walk to access various areas.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch regularly; full range of motion with arms and hands; ability to handle objects frequently.
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly; up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Hearing and speaking required.
• Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus.
