Automotive Inventory Associate

As an Automotive Inventory Associate at Car Max, you'll help keep our high volume used vehicle inventory accurate, organized, and ready for customers. Working within our Inventory Management department, you'll receive and inspect vehicles, verify VIN details, update records in our digital systems, and ensure cars are properly staged on the lot. You'll collaborate closely with sales and service teams while working in a transparent, inclusive culture that supports growth, respect, and honest car buying and selling experiences for customers nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and document incoming vehicles into inventory systems
• Verify VIN, features, mileage, and condition for accuracy
• Tag, label, and organize vehicles on the lot for easy location
• Update inventory records and coordinate with sales and service teams
• Perform basic visual inspections and note damage or discrepancies
• Support pricing, merchandising, and readiness of vehicles for sale
• Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile count differences
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lot and work area
• Use handheld devices and software to track vehicle status and location
• Collaborate with team members to meet operational and accuracy goals
