Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail‑oriented Benefits Advisor to support the strategic evaluation, compliance oversight, and continuous improvement of Peraton’s Health & Welfare programs. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Benefits Strategy & Compliance, this role plays a critical part in advancing benefits strategy, strengthening compliance, and supporting initiatives that enhance cost efficiency, competitiveness, and regulatory alignment.
This individual contributor role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, highly regulated setting and enjoys solving complex problems through data, research, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Analysis & Program Evaluation- Support the assessment of strategic benefits initiatives, including cost‑savings opportunities, ROI evaluations, vendor performance reviews, and plan design optimization.
- Conduct financial modeling, trend analysis, and projections to inform recommendations on plan design, funding strategies, and long‑term benefits planning in coordination with brokers, consultants, and finance.
- Assist in evaluating new vendor solutions, specialty programs, and emerging market offerings to enhance competitiveness and employee value.
- Monitor, interpret, and summarize legislative and regulatory developments (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, SCA, DOL/IRS guidance) and support implementation of required changes.
- Support the development, review, and maintenance of HR policies, plan documents, SPDs, wrap documents, amendments, and compliance‑related materials.
- Partner with Legal, Contracts, and internal stakeholders to ensure benefits and leave programs align with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as contract‑specific, Union, and SCA requirements.
- Assist in the creation, evaluation, and maintenance of fringe benefit groups and SCA‑compliant benefit structures.
- Support audits, contract transitions, and compliance reviews related to SCA, union requirements, and customer‑specific obligations.
- Analyze fringe utilization, cost impacts, and compliance considerations to support operational and pricing decisions.
- Serve as a resource to HR Business Partners, Compensation, Payroll, and other internal teams on benefits strategy, compliance considerations, and program interpretation.
- Support the development of guidance, training, and tools to enhance compliance acumen across HR and operational teams.
- Assist in preparing executive‑level summaries, presentations, and recommendations related to benefits strategy and compliance initiatives.
- Perform targeted data analysis, audits, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with plan requirements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and enhance employee experience through strategic program improvements.
- Support vendor oversight activities, including performance monitoring, issue escalation, and evaluation of service delivery against contractual and compliance expectations.
- Bachelors Degree plus 8+ years of experience in benefits administration, with a focus on Health & Welfare and/or Leave of Absence
- 12+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Experience supporting benefits programs in a mid‑to large‑sized organization
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and comfort working with benefits data
- Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional partners
- Experience in government contracting, high‑growth environments, or M&A is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Healthcare, or a related field preferred
- Working knowledge of SCA, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and other benefits‑related compliance requirements
