Location: Kilmarnock

Job Summary

Professional level sales position responsible for profitable growth of the commercial business through customer retention and development. The role partners with the GM to manage team members and requires expert knowledge of automotive systems, parts, and sourcing from diverse suppliers. This is a full‑time position that supports advanced functions on the commercial side of the business.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain commercial customer relationships
  • Provide GAS2 selling experience to commercial customers
  • Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
  • Provide day‑to‑day supervisory support for team members
  • Collaborate with the GM on coaching and developmental needs for the team
  • Dispatch drivers to ensure delivery standards are achieved
  • Maintain commercial stocking programs
  • Build and maintain a network of second‑source suppliers
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Maintain core bank and commercial returns
  • Maintain commercial credit accounts
  • Partner with the GM to ensure proper driver coverage

Essential

Job Skills
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.)
  • Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals; write simple correspondence
  • Understand and execute instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment
  • Use basic math accurately (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with units, fractions, decimals)
  • Use Microsoft Word and Excel effectively
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Understand commercial profitability concepts, including competition, market opportunities, and customer prioritization
  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
Prior Experience

A minimum of 3 years of prior automotive parts experience preferred.

Proven sales ability with experience in fulfillment of customer transactions.

Formal or informal experience leading teams, supervising daily tasks, and working collaboratively to achieve goals.

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

ASE certification preferred, but not required.

Physical Demands

Predominantly walking or standing; frequent lift or move up to 50 pounds, occasional lift of up to 100 pounds. Requires use of hands and fingers, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Usually inside, occasionally outside with exposure to weather. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, vibration. Noise level usually moderate.
