Job Duties

Join us in preserving what people care about most - access to the outdoors, natural habitats, open spaces, clean water, and safe infrastructure. Virginia State Parks' Business and Revenue Division is accepting applications for a Business Operations Coordinator position.

As a Business Operations Coordinator, you will:

* Provide business analysis and recommendations to park managers.

* Oversee statewide cabin, campground, venue rentals, equipment rental, and special events revenue growth.

* Develop new revenue streams and ensure revenue operations align with mission and sustainability goals.

* Expand revenue-generating offerings and support revenue event operations.

* Evaluate concessions contracts and serve as the enterprise resource for contract management.

* Conduct at least 18 on-site visits annually, which will require overnight travel through Virginia.

* Monitor industry best practices in conference hosting, rental venue operations, and concerts.

* Develop and implement guidelines and training for all aspects of revenue generation outside of retail.

* Review and recommend fee changes.

Minimum Qualifications

* Ability to apply and communicate knowledge of revenue-generating operations like cabin, campground, conference center, and wedding venue rentals, as well as concerts and other special events.

* Experience evaluating revenues and expenditures and responding to business fluctuations.

* Experience establishing revenue and profit goals using data and trends.

* Experience managing contracts.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

* Strong financial forecasting and budgeting skills.

* Experience developing guidelines, rules, and manuals.

* Experience in business administration or equivalent experience.

Additional Considerations

* Experience with state park venue management.

* Experience managing multiple types of venue operations.

* Strong leadership and team management skills.
