job summary

we are thrilled to share the opportunity for a childcare supervisor position within our team at loudoun county parks and recreation. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and want to make an impact in a growing, dynamic environment. This position runs a full‑day childcare program for children 3‑5 years old; plans and implements activities each day;

contacts special visitors; budgets; orders supplies; attends and conducts required meetings; supervises, trains, and coaches assigned staff; works with children, site staff, and parents; performs safety checks; guides substitute; and maintains required paperwork.

we are currently hiring for the following location(s): lovettsville community center, lovettsville, va.

  • manages the childcare program.
  • planned, designed, developed, and implemented programs aimed at children, with a commitment to aligning these programs with the streamin3 curriculum and fulfilling the specific needs of the children.
  • oversees compliance with health and safety regulations and standards at various locations.
  • monitors children's behavior, interactions, and engagement in program activities, maintaining adherence to the required staff‑to‑student ratios.
  • interacts with parents, staff, and school site personnel to ensure effective communication.
  • rental may include other essential duties related to the specific role and department.

operating year‑round, the lovettsville childcare program is available monday through friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. This role requires a total of 37.5 hours of work per week, with staff dedicated to ensuring compliance with the mandated ratios.

minimum qualifications

bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a child‑related field such as elementary education, nursing, or recreation; one (1) year of program experience supervising children or equivalent combination of education and experience.

preferred qualifications
  • master's degree preferred in a related field and six (6) months of program experience supervising children.
  • experience implementing the streamin3 curriculum.
  • familiarity with childcare‑related software, such as brightwheel and epact.
job contingencies and special requirements

must undergo pre‑employment, criminal, and child protective services (cps) background checks. Within 30 days of being hired, cpr and first aid certification must be obtained. Within 30 days of being hired, and then every 2 years thereafter, employees must pass the tb test. Have or take osha (blood borne pathogens) training within 30 days of hire. Mat/emat training within 90 days of hire.

An annual sworn disclosure statement or affirmation must be completed, disclosing any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges.
