Job OverviewWe are currently looking for a Roller Operator to join our team at our Wagman Heavy Civil Team. Reporting to direct field supervision, the Equipment Operator is responsible for proficiently and safely operating all required equipment. He or She should be able to work independently as well as be able to communicate effectively. This position works along with the entire Project Team to support the completion of assigned construction projects and ensures all plans move forward to meet projected deadlines in a safe manner.
This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction. This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Qualifications- Minimum of one (1) year of Heavy Highway experience, operating rollers proficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail‑oriented
- Safely operate various types of rollers on the jobsite
- Perform preventative maintenance and pre‑operation inspections on the roller
- Inspect equipment daily for defective parts and record date and malfunction in a log
- Move, pick up and grade materials including earth and stone and other material
- Assist with laborer duties as needed
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout work shift
- Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift
- Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Must be able to work at heights up to 150 feet
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl
- Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather
- Required to have acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing
- Required to have the ability to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height and the ability to work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces
