As a Senior Civil Estimator, you will take ownership of end-to-end tender preparation for medium-to-large-value earthworks and concrete packages, while mentoring and leading a small team of estimators. It is a senior role for an experienced estimator ready to shape competitive submissions and help drive Civmec's continued growth.
The Role- Manage end-to-end tender preparation, from reviewing documentation through to final submission
- Prepare accurate costings across materials, labour and equipment for medium-to-large earthworks and concrete packages
- Coordinate subcontract elements and ensure complete scope coverage
- Produce professional, competitive tender submissions
Mentor and lead a team of 2-5 estimators, supporting the development of junior team members - Estimate across Civmec's projects, tenders and upcoming works business-wide
- Support project planning and the handover of awarded work to delivery teams
- Maintain documentation standards and ensure compliance with quality systems and timelines
- Contribute to business growth, strong client relationships and overall company performance
To be successful in the role, you will possess the following:
- 5-10 years' field experience in estimating, ideally within the construction, mining or resources industries
- Demonstrated experience estimating medium-to-large-value earthworks and concrete packages
- Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions
- A strong work ethic with the ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume workload to deadline
- Experience mentoring or leading small teams (desirable)
- Experience working for a larger Tier 1 contractor (advantageous)
- Previous knowledge of SMP or Fabrication disciplines (highly regarded)
A trade qualification, Boilermaker, Mechanical Fitter or Welding (desirable but not essential) - Exposure to industry in a blue-collar position (desirable)
