Operations Manager
Location: New Kent
Superintendent Position
Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is looking for a Superintendent to work on various projects in the Greater Richmond area.
Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience with a large scale heavy civil contractor or equivalent industry experience
- In depth knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment and manpower
- Ability to lead field operations with effective decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and maintenance
- In-depth understanding of local, state and federal construction regulations
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening
- Schedule, supervise and monitor construction to meet or exceed the project schedule and budget
- Encourages and/or participates in staff training and development
- Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, other construction management to determine budget and timeline
- Develop a project schedule, sequence of work, and monitor daily productivity
- Have a working knowledge of owner contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders
- Supervise field workforce to assure safety, production and budget requirements are met
- Coordinate materials and equipment delivery to ensure long-lead and critical-path items are on-site
- Maintain a daily log for the job site's operations, reporting to management as necessary
- Ensure punch list is completed in a timely manner
