Job Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and their servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure customers have continual access to the innovations they rely on. You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other roles, collaborating across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing almost infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.
Key Responsibilities- Manage construction projects and oversee all construction related activities for new builds or general capital projects, including project scope, quality, schedule, and budget.
- Interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases.
- Conduct negotiations, evaluate bids/proposals, and create project scope and RFPs.
- Perform financial analysis of construction projects.
- Lead initiatives aimed at increasing data center resiliency.
- Review constructability of electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.
- Manage construction documentation (submittal review, RFI’s, change orders, invoicing).
- Ensure construction project quality control.
- Record and report key construction metrics to stakeholders.
- Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause failure analysis for equipment failures.
- Lead teams within and across internal and external groups supporting the data center.
- Read and interpret construction specifications and drawings for all disciplines.
- Specify and document system‑level architecture and performance/equipment requirements.
- Oversee controls and commissioning of large‑scale projects.
- Manage power systems and power monitoring.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of construction management experience on large, complex projects involving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants.
- Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
- Experience directly related to the design or construction of data centers or critical infrastructure.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Windows.
- Experience in construction management of large, complex MEP plant projects.
- Knowledge of critical data center equipment.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations (Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA).
- Project management experience in data centers or comparable infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings for all domains.
- Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
Base salary range: USD – annually. Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
