Universal Member Services Representative
Location: Gloucester, Virginia

The position is a full‑time 40‑hour week, scheduled 8:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays (twice a month) 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The Universal Member Services Representative supports branch operations including opening and closing accounts, handling member service issues, teller line functions, and cross‑selling credit union products.
Key responsibilities include opening new accounts for all types of deposits and trusts, providing member information on products and services, processing member financial transactions, maintaining cash drawer and audit integrity, enhancing member relationships through calls and referrals, and performing other assigned duties, including teller functions.
Performance Measurement- Adherence to all major duties and responsibilities.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and industry trends.
- Efficient and accurate member service functions in accordance with policies and legal standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in credit union products and services.
- Balance cash drawer proficiently with no reportable outages or fraud items.
- Achieve a minimum of 100% on individual production goals.
- Seek sales opportunities to cross‑sell or refer members.
- Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.
- Maintain a business‑like appearance and uphold 1A image standards.
- Maintain open communication among colleagues, departments, leadership, and members.
- Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Experience: One year of similar or related experience.
Education: High school education or GED.

Ability to build relationships, handle confidential information, and negotiate effectively with internal and external parties.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of credit union systems, products, and services.
- Familiarity with regulatory laws (Reg CC, Truth in Savings, Truth in Lending, CIP, BSA, Patriot Act).
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Effective verbal communication for detailed instructions.
- Average hearing sufficient for normal conversations.
- Finger dexterity for typing, using office equipment, and handling small objects.

- Average visual acuity needed to read documents, emails, and screens.
