Summary of the RoleWe are searching for a skilled and dedicated hygienist to provide a comprehensive range of preventive services. In this role, you will be a vital part of our patient‑centered setting, focusing on continuity of care and fostering trust with the families we serve. You will work closely with our dedicated staff and the owner‑dentist to promote a warm, supportive environment that makes a meaningful difference in our patients' lives.
Duties & Responsibilities- Relationship‑Based Care:
Build and maintain long‑term relationships with patients, ensuring they feel known and valued at every visit. - Preventive Care:
Perform high‑quality prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance for a diverse patient base in a single‑column hygiene model focused on clinical excellence and patient experience. - Periodontal Therapy:
Conduct comprehensive periodontal care, thorough scaling and root planing (SRP) and monitor periodontal health. - Diagnostic Assistance:
Evaluate medical histories, capture high‑quality digital X‑rays, and perform thorough periodontal screenings. - Clinical Documentation:
Capture clear intraoral images to document clinical findings and assist in patient co‑discovery of treatment needs. - Digital Workflow:
Maintain accurate, timely clinical notes and treatment plans within our fully paperless practice management system. - Patient
Education:
Partner with patients to improve their health through tailored brushing and flossing techniques and nutritional counseling. - Team
Collaboration:
Work seamlessly with the dentist and staff to ensure a cohesive, family‑oriented experience for everyone in the office.
- Valid Virginia State Dental Hygiene License and CPR certification.
- Professionalism: A pleasant and compassionate personality with the ability to make patients feel comfortable and at home.
- Local Anesthesia certification and experience with sealants (preferred).
