Job Overview
RDC is currently seeking a Project Architect to work in person for our Washington DC office. The ideal candidate will have experience working on retail and commercial projects. The position requires digital graphics experience, good communication skills, and an ability to thrive in a team environment.
Position SummaryThe Project Architect is a licensed architect competent in all conventional aspects of architectural practice with an emphasis on the technical implementation of the project design. Performs work requiring independent judgment and critical thinking. Adapts firm and practice standards to project requirements and possesses a diverse working knowledge of related disciplines. The Project Architect is responsible for leading the development of contract documents and as such provides supervision and guidance for the project team.
QualificationsInclude
Architectural licensure in the state where the office is located is required
Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited program is preferred.
8 or more years of experience in architectural practice preferred.
Extensive knowledge of architectural detailing, current construction standards, and associated building trade collaboration process (design-build, design-assist, etc.).
Extensive experience in translating architectural concept design into contract documents, including specification coordination.
Extensive knowledge of agency review processes, and the ability to successfully complete the entitlement and permitting process with minimal aid and supervision.
Extensive knowledge of construction contract administration processes preferred.
Has the ability to lead communication efforts with client and development team.
Proficiency in AutoCAD/REVIT and other business software and their application to contract documents.
