Pediatric Surgeon Locum Tenens Opportunity in Virginia Are you an experienced Board Certified pediatric surgeon seeking a fulfilling locum tenens opportunity? Join our team in providing exceptional surgical care to pediatric patients from newborns through teenage years. Job Details:
Full-Time Coverage:
Clinic hours Monday to Friday (8 a.m.
- 5 p.m.) Night Call Coverage:
Monday to Friday (8 p.m.
- 8 a.m.) Weekend Call Coverage: 24-hour coverage on Saturdays and Sundays Rounding Responsibilities:
Provide care for patients admitted during the week Weekend surgical consults as needed Consults from the Emergency Department (ED):
Approximately 0-2 calls per day Emergency Surgeries:
The hospital encounters around 8-10 emergent surgeries per year
Note:
It is not a trauma hospital Response Time: 15-minute maximum call-back time for emergency consults 30-minute maximum response time Patient Load: 0-4 patients per day per provider
Duties Include:
Collaborating with other pediatric providers to diagnose and determine if surgery is necessary Managing and performing preoperative, operative, and postoperative care Utilizing office support staff during the day for triaging calls, including prescription refills Handling after-hours calls, primarily from the Pediatric Emergency Department Submission Requirements:
Board Certified Pediatric Surgeon - REQUIRED; no exceptions VA State License & DEA - REQUIRED at the time of submission COVID Vaccination - Highly Preferred Flu Vaccine - REQUIRED at the time of credentialing Certification Requirements:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Board Certified Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) State License Requirements:
Virginia Additional License Requirements:
