Position: Pulmonary-Critical Care Physician | Unique Black Lung & ICU Opportunity in Southwest VA
Location: Norton

A growing healthcare organization in Southwest Virginia, near the Kentucky border, is seeking a BC/BE Pulmonologist/Critical Care Physician to join an expanding pulmonary and critical care service line.

Position Highlights:
  • Join a growing Pulmonary & Critical Care program with strong regional demand
  • Provide a mix of outpatient pulmonary care, ICU consults, and critical care
  • Train in the specialized field of Black Lung disease — no prior experience required
  • Treat patients through one of the nation’s busiest Black Lung Clinics
  • Utilize advanced technology including ION Bronchoscopy
  • Perform procedures including bronchoscopy and arterial line placement
  • Manage a balanced volume of approximately 20 outpatient visits and 5–6 Black Lung patients daily
  • Teach Internal Medicine residents and participate in future research opportunities
  • Practice in a 125+bed community hospital serving a regional population of 75,000–100,000
  • Access broad specialty support including surgery, OB/GYN, cardiology, orthopedics, rehabilitation, and residency programs
  • Join a regional healthcare network with 20 hospitals, 800+ physicians and APPs, and 29 counties served

Candidate Requirements:
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine
  • Strong clinical skills in pulmonary and critical care medicine
  • Experience with bronchoscopy and critical care procedures preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, residents, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
