Required:
Yes
- Board: ABEM, AOBEM, or ABMS (FM/IM/EM)
- Licenses:
Active unrestricted VA Medical License; DEA with VA address - DEA / CDS:
Active DEA with VA address (Schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5) - Certifications:
ACLS, ATLS, PALS (if not BC in EM); NRP for non-ABEM providers - Experience:
New graduates (EM residency within past 12 months) acceptable with 3-month proctorship - Other
Qualifications:
Case logs (last 2 years), CME (Preeclampsia), immunizations (MMR, Varicella, TB, Flu)
- Provide emergency medical care to patients of all ages in a 12-hour shift model
- Supervise and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants during mid-level coverage
- Perform necessary emergency procedures and interventions consistent with EM practice
- Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the Epic EMR system
- Maintain required certifications and participate in quality improvement activities
