Carilion Clinic is searching for an enthusiastic general Cardiologist to practice in Rocky Mount, VA. The position is based at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital, collaborating with local primary care practices and supported by the academic cardiology team at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. This opportunity offers a peaceful small-town lifestyle with convenient access to metropolitan amenities and outdoor recreation.
Practice Info
- Cardiology practice located within Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital, a 37-bed facility
- Works closely with two well-established primary care practices including 7 physicians and 3 nurse practitioners
- Supported by a large academic cardiology practice at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 703-bed acute-care academic medical center
- Hospital features an Emergency Room housing Lifeguard
11 emergency air medical transport - Available services include stress testing, echocardiography, nuclear studies, cardioversions, Holter and event monitoring, temporary and permanent pacemakers, cardiac rehab, vascular ultrasound, and Epic EMR
Responsibilities
- Practice general cardiology in Rocky Mount, VA
- Help support a Carilion-employed general cardiologist in nearby Martinsville VA during vacation and other times away
Compensation
- Min Starting Salary: $520,000
- Max Starting Salary: $748,056
- Eligible to participate in Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs
- Competitive salary with incentive tied to productivity and quality criteria

Requirements
- Board certification or eligibility in cardiovascular disease
- Echo and nuclear skills
- Pacemaker experience is a plus
- Will also consider an invasive, non-interventional trained cardiologist
