Middle School​/Upper School Languages Teacher

Wakefield School, located in The Plains, Virginia, seeks a dynamic and innovative teacher who loves working with young people to serve as a member of its faculty beginning in August of 2026
. This full-time position, which includes benefits, may include Middle School and/or Upper School classes in French, Latin, or Spanish, and advising 8-10 students at one grade level. The ideal candidate would have independent school teaching experience, a degree in a relevant field, and be committed to ongoing professional development.

The preferred candidate will have:

• A bachelor’s degree with a major concentration in a relevant field and/or education is required.
• Master’s degree and/or Commonwealth of Virginia certification;
• Relevant classroom experience, including Middle and/or Upper School World Languages instruction;
• Technological proficiency in the classroom, including Google Educational apps, interactive whiteboards, and electronic grade books;
• Growth mindset and willingness to pursue ongoing professional development;
• Experience with coaching and/or club sponsorship;
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
