Ever wondered how large organizations train their workforce? You're about to find out-by collaborating to create professional development materials yourself. We need two interns to develop and enhance learning resources for DMV's Professional Development and Management Development programs.
The Opportunity
The Virginia DMV is upgrading its employee development programs, and you'll be part of the team creating the materials that teach leadership, professional skills, and technical skills to employees across the agency. This isn't just formatting Power Points-it's instructional design work that shapes how people learn.
The Project:
Organizational Development
Create facilitator guides, learning materials, and instructional resources for agency-wide training programs.
You'll work on two major development programs (Professional Development Program and Management Development Program) while gaining hands-on experience with instructional design tools and learning technologies.
What You'll Create:
Facilitator Guides:
* Develop complete facilitator guides for PDP and MDP courses
* Align materials with program objectives and instructional design best practices
* Create instructor-facing resources that make training delivery seamless
Learning Materials:
* Update and polish slide decks for professional development courses
* Redesign participant guides with consistent branding and engaging content
* Create clear visuals that enhance learning comprehension
Instructional Tools:
* Design EZ Guides and Job Aides using current instructional design principles
* Improve usability and learner experience
* Build reference materials employees can actually use
Digital Resource Management:
* Organize Organizational Development resource library
* Update and refresh OD SharePoint site
* Create logical categorization and streamlined access to materials
Your Deliverables:
* Completed facilitator guides for multiple courses
* Professionally designed slide decks and participant materials
* Enhanced instructional tools (job aides, quick reference guides)
* Organized digital resource library
* Updated SharePoint site with improved accessibility

Hours:
40 hours/week (full-time, 10 weeks)
Openings: 2 positions
Minimum Qualifications
* At least 18 years of age at the start of employment/internship
* As of May 2026, must have completed at least 2 semesters (24 credit hours) and be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a two or four-year college/university
* Recent graduates (May 2026 or December 2025) are also eligible to apply
* Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (exceptions can apply in extenuating circumstances)
* Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
* Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams)
* Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills
* Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week during the summer internship program
* Must be able to work on-site
