Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team at Orange Elementary as a Kindergarten Teacher. In this full-time position, you will create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and academic growth. You will implement age-appropriate curriculum and engage students in hands‑on activities that promote exploration and creativity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to early childhood education and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of all students.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
• Assess and monitor student progress using various assessment tools and methods, providing feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the educational experience and address individual student needs.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
• Organize and participate in school events, parent‑teacher conferences, and community outreach programs.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom, ensuring that materials and resources are readily available for student use.
• Stay current with best practices in early childhood education through professional development and collaboration with peers.

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification or license for Kindergarten education or willing to obtain a Virginia Teaching License.
• Experience working with young children in an educational setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for early learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that promotes student success.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
