Personal Care Transportation Aide

Location: Cumberland

* Qualifications:

1. Possess high school diploma.

Be at least 21 years of age.

Have ability to work with limited supervision.

Have ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Be able to work with individuals with disabilities.

Have the ability to communicate clearly with students, faculty, parents, and other stakeholders.

Possess ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Experience working with children or adolescents preferred.

Job Description:

This individual will ride to school in the morning (two hours) and ride home in the afternoon (two hours) with a special needs child monitoring student behavior and supporting student supervision while riding in a school division vehicle. The aide works closely with transportation driver and school personnel to ensure student arrives safely and is transported in accordance with division policies and procedures.

Salary: $25 per hour (2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon)

Performance Responsibilities:

Ride to and from school with a special needs student.

Monitor behavior and demeanor of student.

Attend to basic needs of student during transportation.

Assist with implementing student behavior plans as directed.

Report any issues or problems occurring during transportation to the principal.

Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
