Special Education Teacher in Victoria, VA

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher with two available positions serving elementary and middle school students in a supportive educational environment near Victoria, VA. This role is ideal for educators passionate about co-teaching and fostering growth in students with diverse learning needs.

You will work onsite with manageable caseloads-fewer than 10 students in each setting-at both the primary and middle school levels, allowing you to provide personalized instruction and make a tangible impact throughout the school year.

Qualifications:

• A valid Special Education teaching certification for the state of Virginia (or eligibility to obtain).
• Previous experience in co-taught classroom models is highly valued.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with general educators and support staff.
• Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction in a co-taught setting for grades 3-4 (elementary) and grades 7-8 (middle school).
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with educational teams.
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and success.
• Partner with families, fellow educators, and specialists to ensure holistic student development.
