Overview

Director of Operations Instructional Design to lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of digital learning experiences for the Operations team, ensuring high-quality, engaging, and measurable learning programs.

Responsibilities

Develop and Deliver Training, Templates, and Artifacts (40%)

  • Create detailed design principles and templates for webinars, live learning, async lessons, and modules.
  • Plan, script, and build engaging, interactive, targeted learning artifacts for internal Operations staff.
  • Create visual elements such as graphics, exercises, videos, printables, and assessments.
  • Use Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Review SCORM Cloud, and PowerPoint to develop and update training artifacts.
  • Develop complex training experiences using JavaScript extensions, xAPI, cmi5, and Blender.
  • Ensure all artifacts are ADA compliant when required (e.g., closed-captioning).
  • Ensure final artifacts are compatible with the organization’s LMS and broader knowledge management infrastructure.

Learning Strategy and Standards (30%)

  • Establish the Learning Experience Design COE to define standards, templates, and processes for learning design excellence.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure learning programs are measurable and linked to performance outcomes and customer experience improvements.
  • Anticipate future learning needs by staying current with design trends and research, balancing prioritization and delivery of new strategies with business needs.
  • Leverage AI technologies to develop learning solutions that deliver high business value and materially transform Ops learning experiences.
  • Maintain governance processes for content updates in collaboration with SMEs and the overall Knowledge and Learning Operations team.

Continuous Improvement and Evolve Content (30%)

  • Deliver strategies that connect learning programs to business results using data and evaluation models to prove impact and value.
  • Establish and monitor key learning performance metrics to measure and enhance business impact, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement feedback loops to gather user insights and measure satisfaction, leveraging this data for iteratively refining learning solutions.
About You
  • 5+ years of experience designing and creating digital training programs, with a preference for digital learning delivered to K‑12 educators.
  • Outstanding knowledge of emerging trends and best practices in digital learning.
  • Expertise in authoring and publishing systems, including Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate, and SCORM Cloud.
  • Proven capability to develop complex learning materials such as simulations, JavaScript extensions, and multimedia.
  • Proficiency in instructional technologies, with operational experience with LMS technologies and emerging standards (xAPI, cmi5).
  • Adept problem‑solving skills, including using data to inform decisions and actions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence others to take action.
  • A passion for supporting educational and career opportunities for millions of students.
  • Excellent PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills.
  • Willingness to travel 4–6 times a year to Client offices or on behalf of Client business.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
