Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team at Orange County High. The ideal candidate will foster a love for literature and language in students while promoting critical thinking and effective communication skills. Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and meet the diverse needs of students.
- Teach various English subjects, including literature, writing, grammar, and composition.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and progress.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that enrich the curriculum.
- Support students in developing their critical thinking and analytical skills through discussions and written assignments.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid state teaching license or willing to obtain
- Proven experience teaching English at the high school level is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of literature, writing techniques, and language arts pedagogy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster a supportive learning environment.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources to enhance learning.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
