We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our educational team at Prospect Heights Middle. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the wonders of science while fostering a collaborative and engaging learning environment. This full-time position requires a commitment to academic excellence and a desire to cultivate a lifelong love of learning among students.

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and promote student engagement.
• Teach a variety of science subjects, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science.
• Utilize diverse instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and promote critical thinking skills.
• Assess student progress through regular evaluations, assignments, and standardized tests, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
• Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, inquiry, and respect for diverse perspectives.
• Collaborate with fellow educators, staff, and parents to support student learning and address individual needs.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with educational best practices and advancements in science.
• Organize and oversee science-related extracurricular activities, such as science fairs, clubs, or competitions.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
• Ensure a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning.

• Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or a related field
• Valid state teaching certification in Science for middle school level or willing to obtain.
• Proven experience teaching science in a middle school setting is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of science curricula and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and accommodate diverse learning needs.
• Proficient in the use of technology for teaching and classroom management.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for science and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
