Spotsylvania's Career and Technical Center is seeking a highly skilled and qualified
Instructor
toplan and provideengaging learning experiences for students in the field of Welding
.Our Career and Technical Education Instructors develop and implement instructional programs that effectively provide the best possible education for each and every student.

Additionally, this role will leverage strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders to support student success.

Course

Description:

Welding I:

Welding I is an essential skill across a wide range of industries where fusible materials and high heat are used to manufacture, repair, or modify tools, equipment, and products. In Welding I, students develop foundational skills in manual welding, cutting, and electrical arc welding processes used to fabricate and join metal components according to diagrams, blueprints, and specifications. Students learn industry-standard safety practices and techniques, including the opportunity to earn the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 certification.

Instruction emphasizes technical skill development, employability skills, and safe shop practices. Contextual instruction and participation in co-curricular Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) activities help students develop leadership, interpersonal, and workplace readiness skills. High-Quality Work-Based Learning (HQWBL) experiences provide experiential learning opportunities aligned with students’ career goals and interests through partnerships with local businesses and organizations.

Welding II:

Welding II provides advanced instruction designed to help students refine technical welding skills and perform welds in multiple positions using a variety of welding processes. Students expand their knowledge of welding techniques, blueprint interpretation, metal fabrication, and industry applications used in manufacturing, construction, and repair industries. Students continue developing industry-level safety practices, technical precision, problem-solving abilities, and workplace readiness skills. Professional welders remain in high demand across multiple industries, providing students with strong opportunities for employment and career advancement.

Contextual instruction and participation in co-curricular CTSO activities support the continued development of leadership, teamwork, communication, and career readiness skills. High-Quality Work-Based Learning (HQWBL) opportunities provide students with authentic industry experiences connected to career interests and workforce needs. .

Welding III:

Welding III is a capstone course that introduces students to advanced welding applications and emerging industry technologies. Students further develop skills in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and advanced fabrication techniques while gaining experience operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) cutting equipment. Instruction emphasizes industry certification preparation, technical proficiency, precision, and workplace expectations necessary for careers in welding, manufacturing, and production industries.

Students are prepared to earn relevant industry credentials that support employment and postsecondary opportunities. Contextual instruction and participation in co-curricular CTSO activities continue to strengthen leadership, interpersonal, and career readiness skills. High-Quality Work-Based Learning (HQWBL) experiences provide students with meaningful, hands‑on opportunities connected to industry partnerships and career pathways.
