Youll collaborate closely with staff and assist multiple elementary students, helping to foster a fully inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities- Providing direct ASL interpretation for students across general education and specialized instruction settings
- Facilitating clear communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students, teachers, and peers
- Supporting students day-to-day instructional and social needs within the classroom
- Accurately conveying spoken and signed communication, ensuring accessibility for all parties
- Working collaboratively with educational staff to help monitor student progress and adapt support as needed
- Intervener Certification is required
- Demonstrated experience in educational interpreting, preferably at the elementary grade level
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with educational terminology
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate cultural sensitivity
