Massanutten Academy is seeking an energetic, dedicated, and student-focused educator to join our faculty for the academic year. Located in the beautiful foothills of the Massanutten Mountains in Woodstock, Virginia, Massanutten Academy provides a structured, supportive environment where students are challenged to achieve academic excellence, develop leadership skills, and grow as responsible citizens.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Master's Degree preferred
- Teaching experience in Science or a related field preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, parents, and cadets
- Commitment to fostering a structured and disciplined learning environment
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach Physical Science (8th Grade), Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, and other courses as assigned
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives
- Conduct laboratory activities and demonstrations in accordance with established safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and cadets
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date grade book
- Mentor cadets through weekly advisory meetings
- Participate in occasional weekend duties and school events
- Adhere to all Academy policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Help maintain and foster a structured, disciplined, and positive classroom environment
- Support the Academy's mission of academic achievement, leadership development, and character education
Employment Requirements
