Pay Grade: Professional Salary Scale (P5)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Supervisor: Director of Special Education & Related Services
Stipend: A $5,000 stipend is available for this position.
OverviewThe BCBA provides proactive behavior management strategies for teachers responsible for students with diverse learning needs. The BCBA collaborates with classroom teachers, school administrative staff, and other school division staff to coordinate services that support students ages 3‑21. This role includes implementing behavior remediation programs and consulting on classroom behavior management.
Responsibilities- Provide supervision, support, and demonstration of training, coaching, and instructional guidance in classroom management.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration.
- Prepare and maintain educational reports.
- Evaluate and monitor students’ behavioral functions and progress, assist in developing appropriate goals and objectives.
- Coordinate and participate in department meetings to ensure high‑quality services.
- Monitor assessments and maintain strong organizational skills.
- Attend training, seminars, classes, and study groups to support the alternative and diagnostic programs.
- Perform other related work as required.
- Master’s Degree or higher, leadership experience, and prior classroom teaching experience preferred, especially in Special Education.
- BCBA certification required.
- Knowledge of district policies, general office procedures, and equipment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer use for data entry, word processing, and accounting.
- Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Lift up to 30 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, or 10 pounds frequently.
- Stand, sit, walk, and perform light physical tasks involving bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- Use hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
