Job DescriptionThe Behavior Support Assistant provides direct behavioral, social‑emotional, and instructional support to students experiencing behavioral challenges in a variety of school settings. Working collaboratively with teachers and administrators, the Behavior Support Assistant implements behavior plans, reinforces positive behaviors, and supports the development of self‑regulation, communication, and problem‑solving skills. This position utilizes evidence‑based practices, including PBIS and trauma‑informed approaches, to promote safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments.
Responsibilities include collecting behavioral data, assisting with crisis intervention and de‑escalation, participating in student support processes, maintaining confidentiality, and engaging in ongoing professional development to support student success. There is one position open at each elementary school in Stanley, Shenandoah, Springfield, and Luray.
