Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team at Locust Grove Primary as an Assistant Principal. This full-time position requires a passionate educator who is committed to fostering a positive learning environment, supporting staff and students, and enhancing the overall educational experience. The Assistant Principal will work closely with the Principal and other school leaders to implement school policies, promote academic excellence, and ensure the well-being of all students.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs and curricula that meet the needs of all students.
  • Support the Principal in managing daily school operations, including scheduling, staff supervision, and student discipline.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective instructional strategies and assessment practices.
  • Foster a positive school culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and academic achievement among students and staff.
  • Monitor student progress and implement interventions as needed to support academic success.
  • Coordinate and oversee extracurricular activities, programs, and events that enhance the school community.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and community members to build strong partnerships and support student learning.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of faculty and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and policies related to education.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education and leadership.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.
  • Valid state certification in administration or leadership.
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience, with a preference for experience in an elementary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students, staff, and community members.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable educational environment.
  • Proficiency in using technology and data analysis to inform decision-making and improve student outcomes.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in educational practices.
