- Established in 1970, Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) is one of 23 colleges in the Virginia Community College System, with seven locations across several counties, including Brunswick, Charlotte, Nottoway, Mecklenburg, Greensville, and Halifax. Principles of Management. This course teaches management and the core management functions of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. The successful candidate must be committed to SVCC's mission to provide high-quality education to the Southside Virginia community.

Applications will be received, reviewed, and considered continuously until needed positions are filled.

Course Content & Specific Duties:

  • Teach the fundamental management functions: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.
  • Focus on the application of management principles to realistic situations managers encounter in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Deliver instruction in a hybrid format, ensuring high-quality course materials align with college standards.
  • Maintain engagement through the college's Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) for the online portion of the course.
  • Participate in professional activities and support student success through active engagement.
  • Monitor and document class attendance in compliance with college policies, maintaining accurate records and communicating with students and necessary departments as needed to support academic success.

Special Assignments
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
