Pre Calculus II This is a Passport and UCGS transfer course that presents trigonometry and its various applications. The successful candidate must be committed to SVCC's mission to provide high-quality education to the Southside Virginia community.
Applications will be received, reviewed, and considered continuously until needed positions are filled. Course content and specific duties include trigonometric functions, analytic trigonometry, applications of trigonometry, and conics. Develop and maintain high-quality course materials aligned with college standards and learning outcomes. Maintain engagement through the college's Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). Monitor and document class attendance in compliance with college policies, maintaining accurate records and communicating with students and necessary departments as needed to support academic success.
Special assignments may include performing other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Key skills and required qualifications include a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution, excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams, ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments, ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds, understanding of and commitment to the mission of the community college and student success.
Additional considerations include teaching experience at the college level, specifically with face-to-face and online/hybrid modalities. Competency using instructional technologies such as SMART boards, Zoom and Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). Experience working with community college students. Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and academic success.
