Summary
We are seeking a passionate and creative individual to join our team as a full-time art teacher at Orange County High. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore their artistic abilities, encourage self-expression, and foster a love for the arts. This position requires a dynamic educator who can develop engaging lesson plans, promote critical thinking, and cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum that meets the needs of diverse learners.
- Create engaging lesson plans that encourage creativity and artistic expression across various mediums.
- Teach fundamental art concepts, techniques, and history to students of different skill levels.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them improve their artistic skills.
- Organize and oversee art exhibitions, contests, and other events to showcase student work.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate art education into interdisciplinary projects.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, ensuring all materials and equipment are properly managed.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing regular updates to students and parents.
- Stay current with trends in art education and incorporate new techniques and technologies into the classroom.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages all students to express themselves creatively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification or willing to obtain
- Proven experience teaching art at the high school level, with a strong portfolio of personal and student work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Knowledge of various art techniques, mediums, and contemporary art practices.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment for all students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community to promote art education.
