Overview
Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis.

- Teach courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses.
- Mentor students inside and outside of the classroom.
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, which may be face-to-face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit instruction.
- Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation.
- Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner.
- Assess student performance, including submission of final grades in a timely fashion.
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior, be available to students by appointment, attend adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses at departmental and institutional levels, and complete any required training.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
- Minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards, normally including an earned Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline.
- Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
- Ability to instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses.
- Ability to provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses.
- Ability to create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers, and public groups.
- Ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation or gender identity.
- Ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources.
- Ability to observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.
- Position is designated as a security-sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check.
- Male applicants between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
