Riding Director

Overview

Camp Mont Shenandoah is a small, all‑around girls summer camp with an excellent English horseback riding program, located in a beautiful setting with top‑notch facilities. Housing is available for the summer. Dates are mid‑June through mid‑August (exact dates TBD).

• Teach horseback riding lessons to children of all skill levels.
• Train, manage, and supervise barn staff.
• Ensure that horses are well cared for.
• Maintain an equine facility.
• Assist with the supervision of campers during meals and evening programming.

• Skill, training, and experience in planning and teaching horseback riding lessons.
• Experience maintaining an equine facility and supervising others in an equestrian program.
• Ability to adhere to the Camp's policies and procedures.
• Exceptional character, excellent judgment, honesty, reliability, professionalism, respectfulness, and kindness.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sense of humor.
• Minimum age 21 years.
• Current criminal, sex offender registry, and driver background checks passed.
• Works six days a week.

• A desire to work with children.
• Summer camp experience is a big plus.
• Understanding of and ability to follow best and safest equine practices.

• Salary commensurate with skill and experience.
