Job Description Summary
Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool that is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as‑needed basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Teach courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom.
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit instruction).
- Provide instruction in both traditional and non‑traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation.
- Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner.
- Assess student performance, including submission of final grades in a timely fashion.
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior.
- Be available to students by appointment.
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings.
- Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels.
- Complete any required training.
- Other related duties as assigned.
All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include an earned Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.

- Provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses.
- Create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory.
- Communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups.
- Treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation or gender identity.
- Exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources.
- Observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.
This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
