Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team at Orange County High as a full-time Spanish teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop their language skills and cultural understanding while fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment. This role requires a commitment to academic excellence and the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to various learning styles.
  • Teach Spanish language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening, to students at different proficiency levels.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
  • Assess student progress regularly through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback to support their growth.
  • Incorporate technology and multimedia resources to enhance language instruction and student engagement.
  • Organize and participate in extracurricular activities, such as language clubs or cultural events, to promote language acquisition and cultural appreciation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and share best practices in language instruction.

    Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student performance and any concerns that may arise.
  • Stay current with developments in language education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into the curriculum.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid teaching certification or or willing to obtain
  • Proven experience teaching Spanish at the high school level is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for teaching and communication.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community to support student success.
