The School Counselor will serve as a primary educator in the school’s counseling department, providing guidance, support, and instruction to students, staff, and families. They will collaborate with teachers and administrators to integrate culturally responsive practices and support student mental health and academic success.

• Develop and implement individualized counseling plans to support student growth and achievement.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address academic, social, and emotional needs.
• Consult with teachers to align instruction and classroom interventions with student needs.
• Coordinate school‑wide activities related to student well‑being, career exploration, and college readiness.
• Participate in student support teams, disciplinary hearings, and crisis intervention.
• Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports in compliance with state regulations.

• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching certificate with endorsement in School Counseling.
• Strong commitment to culturally responsive teaching and equity practices.
• Ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and work with diverse stakeholders.
