DescriptionSweet Briar College invites applications for a part-time adjunct instructor to teach acting beginning in August 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to teach one section of Acting I in Fall 2026; the course is scheduled to meet Mondays and Wednesdays 2:40-4pm. Our theatre program is part of our major in Performing Arts, which offers programs in music, dance, and theatre, and some courses also contribute to our leadership core curriculum and our certificate in arts administration.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Teach one section of Acting I, including all instructional responsibilities (e.g. class sessions, grading/assessment, maintain communication with other faculty and staff, holding office hours)
Required Qualifications:
- A terminal degree (M.F.A., Ph.D.) or equivalent professional experience;
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching; and
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience teaching in a college environment
The salary range for this position is $3,500.00- $5,000.00 per course. This is commensurate with education and experience and will be determined in accordance with institutional guidelines.
