Responsibilities:

• Implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials
• Develops lesson plans and assessments to effectively meet student needs and motivate students to be successful
• Maintains safe and orderly environment
• Communicates with parents/guardians
• Maintains complete and accurate student records
• Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members
• Monitors and assesses student achievement
• Attends ongoing professional learning and meetings
• Models professional, moral, and ethical standards in all interactions and job functions
• Performs related duties as assigned by the building administrator(s) in accordance with the school/division policies and practices

Qualifications:

• Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure in Special Education General Curriculum or Adapted Curriculum
• Applicant with teaching experience must have an acceptable rating from previous employer
• Ability to effectively use and integrate technology

Salary:

• 25-26 Starting Salary: $51,005 (Bachelor's Level)
• Salary: TBD

Educational Supplements:

• Master's: +7% of base salary
• BA + 15: $750
• Teacher National Board Certification: $2,000
• Doctorate: $2,000

Additional Information:

• This is a 10-month/200 day position
